Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy for $400.00 This is our first kayaks, got two, working well. Notice lots of tweeking needed. Takes on water when capsized. A bit wobbly for a six foot "standard-American".....and too heavy for a small person to load/unload alone. Still a decent buy, but expect to put out more money to make it comfortable and/or useful for fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for your buck Just did my first test run. Bear in mind this is my first kayak so The only other kayak I’ve been in is a $150 pelican sit in. Comparing it to my friend’s kayak this is much more stable and tracks well. Same complaint as others, the seat is about as cheap as it comes but workable for the short term until I upgrade. Just like any sit on top you’ll need scupper plugs which did not come with the yak. The seal on the compartment closest to where you sit is less than ideal and will let water in I’m almost positive so water tight bags are a must. The forward compartment will seal but is super hard to get open especially while on the water so I’ll probably just keep an emergency kit in there. I like all the features for the price. It’s a bit heavy at 68lbs unloaded but is manageable for solo loading with grips on both sides and front and back. Foot pedals feel cheap so I’ll probably have to upgrade eventually. Even with the minor complaints at this price you can easily upgrade. I’m 6’4” and about 255lb. Didn’t load it down for its maiden voayage but I’m confident I can put a lot of additional weight in there and still be safe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent kayak We bought two of these a month ago. They are decent but also have drawbacks. The worst to me are the two scupper holes under the seat...had to plug these immediately. Also, as mentioned on several reviews, the foot rests do not stay put and actually pop off, so we tied them to where we wanted them with heavy twine, problem solved; and thanks to the prior reviewers for the heads up, we never lost the part that flips off. Also as mentioned on other reviews, they do not track straight. Overall, we are enjoying them, haven't fished yet. On the question about recommending to a friend, would tell them what I think and let them decide. Is there a better kayak for similar money?...I don't know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tampa Bay fishing I bought two and will get 1 more for my daughter who is growing up. The best kayaks for the $. Easy to add extra fishing equipment. Steers great in white caps and holds a lot of weight. Great when the fish are plentiful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Kayak - tracking a bit off but nice features Like the storage and features - like rod holders. Front Rod Holder difficult to get to. Tracking a bit off (will be with family in their kayaks - different brands - and notice that I typically spend more time correcting for tracking issue than they do. However, I'm usually the one HAULING everything in my kayak. Holds lots of stuff and floats well. A bit on the heavy side so difficult to move around on shore. And it certainly does not turn on a dime in the water. But relatively stable and great kayak for fishing. You'll definitely want to replace the seat, though. I think for the features and if you can get it on sale, it's a great deal. One thing I would like though is to know how to obtain plastic weld sticks that match the 'lime green camo' version I got. Hard color combination to match on plastic weld sticks, and can't find anything on the Field and Stream website.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Kayak I've had this kayak for 2 weeks now and had it out 4 times. I know there are more expensive kayaks that are most likely better but this one seems to meet my needs. I plan to use it for fishing, and to access spots for hunting deer (maybe waterfowl). It is fairly stable, the only time I've tipped it was on purpose. The thing I don't like is the "dry hatch" didn't really stay dry when I flipped the kayak in the lake a couple of times. It seems to do OK if I stay upright. I will put my phone and wallet in a plastic bag inside the dry hatch from now on. Everyone complains about the seat. I spent 2 hours in it on my last outing and had no issues. Oh and make sure the anchor D-Ring pin is tight. I lost mine while it was in the back of the truck, now I just tie my line to the anchor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good kayak I thought that I would love this kayak, but it seemed to have water in the boat the entire trip on the water! The seat remained wet as well, making for a miserable trip. The anchor system worked well, but water was even in the dry box!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad all the way around for a bigger guy i bought this and returned it I'm a 6'5 370lb guy I have rode in smaller kayaks without the problems I read up on it and heard about the holes in it and getting the plugs but if you loose one going down the river your sol I would not hold a guy a hundred lbs less than me lucky we had a 120 lb girl to ride it the rest of the way back and it was not stable at all
