Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not waterproof Unfortunately I am very disappointed with these shoes. I must say they are very comfortable and have good adherence in rocks. In the other hand, after only a couple of months using them, the shoe sole looks like I have been using them for a very long time. But the worst thing that I must say is that they are supposed to be waterproof, but when I tried them under the rain, just after half an hour walking under light-moderate rain, the inside of them were completely soaked, I could wring out my socks. I have worn other shoes that are not waterproof that can hold off the water better, that's the reason why I am so disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe After trying on every shoe in the store by every brand I chose this one. It offered the best comfort and grip for my style, and the price was very reasonable. Living in Hawaii I have taken these on several hikes in wet, slippery, dry, steep, and hot conditions. Performed as expected in every condition, and your feet stay dry when walking through shallow puddles, wet grass, or when it's raining. Offers great traction on any surface, but use common sense when walking on slippery smooth surfaces like rocks or wood. Stupidity killed the cat. Uploaded video is a quick one I made of several hikes from the past weekends

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 10 months later This is my 2nd pair of the Redmond hiking boot. I had to send the 1st pr back after 2 months as they started to leak after walking in wet grass. The 2nd pair I've had for about 10 months now. They are a very comfortable shoe, I put them on out of the box w/o any problems. I walk approx 3-4 mile per/day & I purchased these boots for the waterproof quality. I walk my dog in all kinds of weather or if its going to rain outside. Its now 10 months & again the shoes don't hold the wetness out just walking in wet grass from morning due or after a rain & my feet are soaked. I will not purchase these boots again as the waterproofing doesn't hold-up. I'm very disappointed in the Columbia quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snug, but good This is a well-made, comfortable shoe. The padding and support is excellent, as is the sole pattern. It could use better ventilation, but that's to be expected in a waterproof shoe. Other reviewers have said that the shoe runs a little small, so I ordered a half size larger. I wish I had ordered a FULL size larger, as they are still too snug. I'm hoping that the toe box will stretch out with time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Feet, Great Shoes My feet are worn out and always painful, I've had bone fusion in the tops of my feet. I'm a farmer and gardener and hiker and I've been looking for a truly comfortable pair of shoe for years. I bought my first pair of Redmonds over a year ago, they're still in great shape and I walk 3-4 miles a day in them working on the farm. I just received my second pair and I have another in my cart right now. I put these boots on in the morning and live in them. I'm heading to Europe in the Fall and these will be my main shoes for this trip. I'm actually looking forward to long hikes again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe... I only have had these for a little over a month, but so far so good. I swap out the in-soles in every shoe I buy. But other than that small change, the fit is perfect, the long day comfort is exceptional. I'm a UPS driver and work 10 hour days and they are the only shoes I am comfortable wearing now. In the winter months I wear nothing but Columbia as well. Only shoes (boots) I'v e used for work for the last 10 years. Can't see that changing anytime soon. However, still waiting for heavy rain to see how they hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set of shoes. I bought these shoes and immediately took them on a 3-day camping trip through the jungles/mountains/caves of Central Viet Nam. First, as other people have mentioned, get a size bigger than normal. Also I know I'm dumb for wearing brand new shoes on a hike but I had zero problems with blisters or rubbing. These shoes took on sharp rocks, suction-cup mud, and slippery cave rocks with aplomb. Swimming through a cave in these? No problem. Putting them on still wet the next day and wearing them for 8 hours? No problem. 10/10, would shoe again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased the Redmond waterproof hikers in August 2018 and have worn them frequently during my travels. They are still in like new condition. They fit well and are comfortable but I am surprised they are not waterproof. Moisture soaks through and thoroughly soaks my socks when walking in dew covered grass. I did not expect this to be a quality issue with Columbia since their products have always stood up to their standards. It's disappointing to purchase waterproof shoes that aren't waterproof.
